Emergency shelters listed below are co-ed unless otherwise noted. Most shelters also provide a way for you to connect to other needed services.
Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS) provides arrangements for temporary shelter to homeless families, singles and childless couples. You must visit a DSS office to apply for shelter. There are DSS district offices in Peekskill, Mount Vernon, White Plains, and Yonkers – use your address (or last permanent address) to find your local district office.
